What is Mobikwik?

Founded in 2009, Mobikwik is a digital wallet that allows you to make bill payments, money transfers, recharge and many more all in a single tap. Since Mobikwik’s release, it has become India’s largest single mobile payments and digital wallet. Mobikwik claims to have around 100 million users. Mobikwik was founded by Bipin Preet Singh and Upasana Taku in 2009. In 2013, Reserve Bank of India authorized Mobikwik's use of it’s wallet. MobiKwik has a ton of investors including American Express, Sequoia Capital, Tree Line Asia, Bajaj Finance, GMO Payment Gateway, Cisco Investments, Net1 and MediaTek.

Mobikwik is available in playstore for Android and apple store for iOS. If your device supports any of these, you will be able to access the Mobikwik app. An alternate way is to access Mobikwik from the web. Just go to google and type in or just click here to go inside the site. Then sign up or log in if you already have an account. Then that's it, you can start making payments or paying bills. All the features in the app are also there in the website. So as an overview, Mobikwik is available in iOS, Android as well as web browsers according to the Mobikwik website.

Sending money in Mobikwik

The first thing that you have to do is login and click on the “Money Transfer” button at the left panel. After that, click on the “Send To Wallet” button. Then enter the mobile number to which you want to send to. Then enter the amount that you want to pay. This amount is calculated in rupees. Remember that the entered amount should be within your available balance. You can view this balance at the top. You can add money though, if you want to send more money. Back to the topic, click on the “Go” button.

A pop up will then appear which says Send to Wallet. The mobile number, amount and total amount will appear. Click on the “Send Money” button. This will then take you to the page which says that your transfer is successful. It will display your Order ID, amount and total amount paid. The option “New Transfer” is always at the left if you want to make another transfer so you can make use of it if you have accidentally transacted less money.

Adding money to your wallet

Adding money to your wallet is one of the easiest things that you can do with your wallet. It also is the first thing that you should do to start your journey. All you have to do is login, you can create your account (easily) if you don’t have one. Then you can click on the “Add Money” button. You can add cash either by using your Debit card or Credit card and use the cash for all purposes.

Mobikwik limits

Mobikwik has different limits for different kinds of things. Here are the limits:

Limit 1

A person can only transfer up to a max of Rs. 1,000 per transaction from their wallet to their bank account. This amount can be increased by simply upgrading your wallet account and then getting your KYC verification done.

Limit 2

A normal non-upgraded user is only allowed to add 20,000 rupees to their account in a month. However, a person who has a KYC (Know Your Customer) verified account is allowed to add an amount of 1,00,000 (1 lakh) rupees to their account in a month.

Limit 3

Customers can transfer a maximum balance of 10,000 rupees per month and 4,000 rupees per transaction to a wallet. There is also a limit for these kinds of transactions. They are 25 transactions allowed per month and 5 transactions allowed in a single day.
